Aurora Borealis

Night skies, deeply melodic, waiting for the Northern Lights magic to light up the skyline. This series continues my love of lighting. Some paintings with soft strokes that are more like my cloudscapes, others more graphic and overexposed strokes of light on a panoramic backdrop.

The Arctic, like all of the planet faces climate change. There seems to be difference of opinion. Is the world for us to harvest, take, destroy? I believe it has to be more harmonious and human beings need to stop destroying cultures, people, flora, fauna.

National Geographic photographers captured a starving polar bear on film. A visual message of what we are doing to the world was lost.

Cristina Mittermeier : The top polar bear scientists have come out and said we’re not wrong. We never said this was climate change, all we’re saying is this is what climate change will look like in the next 100 years or 30 years or 10 years. The fact that we’ve had so much support is amazing, but unfortunately the trolls have the loudest voices.

The beauty of nature, of living beings should be treasured. Ecology has to come before economy. Aren’t we humane innovators, capable of achieving both?
